Ministry Guidelines for Families
Welcome to a new year of ministry at Christ Church. We hope this year will be full of spiritual growth, discovery and understanding, as well as a lot of fun for your child. Please review the following guidelines to familiarize yourself with the expectations we have for our young people. We want to support you in any way that we can so if any of these guidelines become difficult for your family to adhere to, please let us know.
Children should come ready to learn and to have fun!
In order to ensure the best learning environment for all the students in the class, we ask that each child exhibit self-control and practice attentiveness, to the best of their ability. Your student will be engaged in a variety of age appropriate activities during their class time. If a student is disruptive to the learning environment, they will be given a warning and be redirected towards positive behavior. If the student persists in disrupting the class, their parent(s) will be notified and they will return to the adult class/service for the remainder of the class.Families will talk about what they are learning throughout the week.
This year, your children will be learning so much about Jesus! Please talk with your kids about what you are all learning! Ask questions, think aloud, memorize a relevant scripture verse, and study the Word together as a family or community group. Need ideas on how to do this? Please reach out!Children are not to be unsupervised while in the building
This is for the safety of our children. Please do not let your children walk unescorted before, during, or after services. When checked into Kid City programming, your child is the responsibility of Kid City and will be closely supervised by qualified, vetted adults. Unattended or wandering children will be brought to the Kid City Director. For children older than 3rd grade, use your own discretion when leaving them unsupervised. Children of any age are not allowed on the balcony, behind the platform in the auditorium, or in the admin wing.Children are not to run in the hallways.
The outside lawn also has ample playspace, weather permitting. Please do not use the ADA ramps or Commons for rowdy play.
Thank you, in advance, for applying these guidelines. We want every student to have a wonderful experience while at Christ Church, and your cooperation in these matters helps ensure that ALL of our children are safe and engaged in the exciting work of learning about the Lord.
Sincerely,
Amy Koehler
